Divine Birth Midwifery proudly serves families throughout Greenwood, Indianapolis, and surrounding Central Indiana communities.

Shannon Greika is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Indiana-licensed Certified Direct Entry Midwife (CDEM) serving families throughout Central Indiana. She earned her Associate of Science in Midwifery from the Midwives College of Utah and has dedicated her career to providing safe, compassionate home birth care.
Shannon believes pregnancy and birth are natural, physiological processes that work best with respectful, attentive, and individualized care. She provides evidence-based monitoring throughout pregnancy, labor, and the postpartum period, and collaborates with physicians when needed to ensure safety. Her approach centers on shared decision-making, nourishment, education, and creating an unhurried environment where families feel confident and supported.
Her journey into midwifery has been a long one starting with the birth of her own children. Each birth transformed her in so many ways which gave her a calling to serve mothers and babies.
Shannon’s career in birth services first began as a doula certified through Doulas of North America (DONA) working for Community Heath Network and in private practice. Shannon then apprenticed with a home birth certified nurse midwife for 3 1/2 years and birth assisted for several other home birth midwives. She also spent 6 weeks in the Philippines working in a high volume birth center delivering babies as a student midwife under supervision. Additionally, Shannon stays current on relevant midwifery topics attending appropriate continuing education workshops and trainings. And lastly, Shannon has had the honor and privilege of being a NARM midwife preceptor, training several midwifery students, including participating in the training of three other wonderful local area midwives.
During her free time she enjoys music, outdoors, art & crafts, reading and spending time with friends and family. Shannon has 3 children, 2 cats and enjoys living in old town Greenwood.

Laura Shackelford serves as a birth assistant, office manager, and phlebotomist with midwife Shannon. She brings a deep passion for physiological birth and a strong commitment to supporting families through informed, compassionate, and evidence-based care.
Laura is DONA trained, a certified phlebotomist, and trained in Spinning Babies® and the Body Ready Method® (BRM). She is currently working toward becoming a certified BRM pro-teacher and looks forward to incorporating body awareness, preparedness, and movement into her work through movement, understanding and a holistic, divinely guided birth practice.
She loves all things birth and is especially passionate about home birth. She firmly believes that women’s bodies are created to do this amazing work and deserve trust, respect, and support.
Laura has also spent two months serving in a rural hospital in Bangladesh, where she supported approximately 200 women through birth—an experience that deeply shaped her perspective on global maternal care and the strength of birthing women across cultures.
Outside of her work, Laura enjoys growing in her faith and investing in her community. She loves the outdoors and travel, especially skiing, hiking, kayaking, and experiencing different cultures around the world. She is supported by a wonderful and understanding husband, has four grown children, and is a proud grandmother to twelve grandchildren.

I’m grateful to work alongside with Candice Schott, CPM, CDEM of Magnivita Midwifery. Candice, my former student and now trusted colleague and friend, is an amazing midwife. Her approach is rooted in trusting the natural process of birth, honoring a mother’s intuition, and supporting women with calm, compassionate care.
Candice and I collaborate closely sharing call coverage and providing mutual support to ensure that our clients always have access to experienced midwifery care with a provider that practices similarly. You’re welcome to meet her during pregnancy so her presence feels familiar and reassuring.
